Deqing County is located in the western part of the prosperous Hangzhou-Jiaxing-Huzhou Plain in the Yangtze River Delta. It faces Shanghai to the east ,links Hangzhou to the south ,neighbors the Taihu Lake Economic Circle to the north and the Tianmu Mountain to the west.
Deqing boasts a venerated history. Plenty of remains of the 5,000-year-old Liangzh Culture can be found within territory.In A.D.222,the county of Wukang was founded.In A.D.691,another county named Wuyuan emerged,which administered 17 towns to east of Wukang and whose name was changed into Deqing in A.d.742.Afterwards ,the two counties had been coexisting for a long period of time ,until they were merged into one in 1958,with the county seat stationed in Chengguan Town.In 1994, the county seat was moved to Wukang Town.At present ,Deqing County covers a landmass of totally 9 towns and 2 villages under the county’s direct jurisdiction.
Ddqing is a county endowed with amazing natural scenery. The county is also known for colorful civilization and abundant natural resources.It is one of China’s first coastal counties opening up to the outside world. Deqing enjoys convenient transportation network, as well-developed posts and telecommunications network. Xuancheng-Hangzhou Railroad,#104 National Highway and Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway all run across the county ,which provides Deqing easy access to the economically-advanced southern Jiangsu province and Hangzhou-Ningbo –Shaoxing economic zones.
